The Wayne Indoor Track teams continued their season, competing at the John Brammer Rust Buster track meet, held at the Chieftains Center located on the campus of Logan High School. The men’s team won the 18-team field, scoring 113 points, outdistancing Gahanna Lincoln, which totaled 98 points. The women’s team were also victorious, scoring 102 points in the 20-team field. Waynesfield-Goshen was a distant second with 73 points.
Sanai Lynch was victorious in the long jump, leaping 17 feet 7 inches. She also won the triple jump, leaping 35 feet 5 inches. Teammate Shamaria Davis was second with a leap of 35 feet 1 inch.
In the weight throw, Kaitlin Rybitski was second, tossing 33 feet. The 4×800-relay team of Angelina Bradley, Enna Eastman, Josephine Henry and Victoria Kempton took second in 11:23.50. Senior Jasmine Kennerson ran a personal best time of 7.98 in the 60-meter dash, taking 2nd place. She also went 27.03 to place second in the 200-meter dash.
The men’s 4×200-relay team of DeAndre Ham, Terrell Ball, Keonte McGowan and Zach Williams were victorious, running 1:37.52. Senior Elisha Stroder won the 400-meter dash in 52.79. Tyler Stargel was a double winner in the 60-meter hurdles (8.57) and triple jump (42 feet 9 inches). Keonte McGowan was 3rd in the long jump, leaping a personal best of 21 feet 9 inches.
Nathanael Bentz was second in the weight throw, tossing 50 feet 9.5 inches. In the high jump, Stroder (6-2, personal best) and Brendan Hill (6-0) took second and third, respectively.
The 4×400 meter relay team of Jayden Wilson, Terrell Ball, Markus Kendrick and Matt Whitmore took 2nd in 3:48.07.
The Warriors run back at Logan HS on January 16, before heading back to Mt. Vernon on January 29 and January 30.
