Springfield 6   Wayne 2

Wayne drops to 9-14 as they can’t seem to hold on to any momentum. After winning the first of their two-game series with Springfield they came out flat against a fired up Wildcat squad. “We battled back but just didn’t seem to get many good swings on their pitcher”. After tying the score in the 5th inning Wayne gave up the go ahead run in the bottom half of the inning and then allowed some insurance runs to cross in the 6th with some shoddy defensive play. “Not much to do but move on, enjoy our Senior Day this Thursday against west Carrollton and get ready for Xenia in the upcoming tournament”.

Fairborn 7   Wayne 3

Our Warriors (8-12) went to Fairborn last night and battled with the Skyhawks (13-6) only to come up short. Dylan Donchez pitched 5 innings giving up 6 runs on 6 hits. Donchez pitched better than his line will look but a few bloopers and bleeders sandwiched around a couple of well hit balls led to 3 runs in the 2nd and 4th innings for Fairborn. Wayne’s offense was hitting the ball well but not getting much to show for it as they outhit Fairborn 10-8 but didn’t cross the plate until the 5th inning for 2 runs and then again in the 6th for 1 run. Leading the way offensively was James Ganion (2 hits/RBI), Donchez (2 hits/RBI), Tyler Wynkoop (2 hits), Nick Miller (2 hits), Kevin Baugh (1 hit) and Layne Riley (1 hit/RBI).
