It’s a special day for Wayne HS as the new Mr & Miss Wayne 2017-2018 are announced at the afternoon assembly. The competition and strength of the candidates was second to none. We are incredibly proud of all the students that participated in the process.
For those of you not familiar with this program, our Mr. and Miss Wayne High School represent our student body in spirit and community outreach. The students are first nominated by their “senior class” peers and the top 5 boys and top 5 girls are picked. They then must submit a packet full of information (resume, essay, mock pep rally draft, teacher evaluations, recommendation letters, etc). The following are scored on a point system. On April 13th we had the privilege to have prominent people representing our community interview the candidates. The interviewers included: Pamela Bitsko (HHCS), Leann Porter (City of Huber Heights), Kathy Harper (VP of Operations Good Sam North Hospital), Holly Samuels (Dayton Chamber of Commerce), and Sara Pride (Project Mgr Open Systems)
After the process is complete, and the scores are tallied the new Mr. and Miss are crowned for the next school year. Congratulations to all the candidates and their families. We are incredibly proud of you all and wish you all the best in your future successes.
