Wayne 14 Northridge 2

Wayne improved its record to 5-6 by run-ruling Northridge Thursday night. James Ganion got the win and Alex Bochenek pitched the last two innings. Dylan Donchez led the hit brigade going 2-4 including a home run. Also getting hits were Tyler Wynkoop, Kevin Baugh, Layne Riley, Jake Jacobs, Tyler Everett and Jacob Reedy.

Wayne 17 Stebbins 9

After a slow start in the field Wayne righted the ship and settled in for a comeback victory against Stebbins. Down 8-3 going into the 4th inning the Warriors plated 7 runs to take the lead. They added 6 more in the 6th inning putting the game out of reach. Jacob Duncan came on to earn the win and Riley pitched the final 3 innings earning the save. Donchez continued his hot hitting going 4-5 ( 2 doubles)and Nick Miller also launched 2 doubles off the left field fence as the Warriors offense came to life. Also joining the hit parade were Wynkoop, Baugh, Everett, Reedy Ganion, Dylan Borns and Jacobs. This win evened Wayne’s record at 6-6.

Beavercreek 7 Wayne 0

Wayne ran into a buzz saw Monday night as Brandon DeWitt pitched a complete game one-hitter. Kevin Baugh supplied the only hit of the evening in the first inning and our team failed to scratch another hit the rest of the game. Donchez took the loss but did not get much help from his defense as 4 of the 7 runs he gave up were unearned. Cole Kehl came in and pitched 2 2/3 innings of shut-out relief to keep us in the game but our bats were not up to the challenge. We are now 6-7 with a big game Tuesday in the Cincinnati Reds High School Showcase at WSU versus these same Beavers.
