Wayne Warriors Varsity Softball Can’t Hold Up Against Miamisburg

Wayne Warriors Varsity Softball couldn’t keep up with Miamisburg and fell 10-0 on Friday.
Miamisburg scored eight runs in the fifth inning. Miamisburg’s big inning was driven by a home run by Ashley Haas, a home run by Erin Teaney, a single by Abbey Haas, and a double by Emily Kepple.
One bright spot for Wayne Warriors Varsity Softball was a single by Marissa Philpott in the first inning.
Aubrey Azbill earned the win for Miamisburg. She went five innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, and striking out four. Kali Brickman took the loss for Wayne Warriors Varsity Softball . She tossed four and a third innings, allowing ten runs, eight hits, and striking out six.
Home runs for Miamisburg came when Haas homered in the fifth inning and Teaney homered in the fifth inning.
Philpott led Wayne Warriors Varsity Softball with one hit in one at bats.
Haas went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Miamisburg in hits. Miamisburg was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Teaney made the most plays with nine.
