Warriors News · From the AD: LEGACY’S

How about those Warriors…What a fantastic Historical season and they have a great opportunity to put an exclamation point on their season with a State Championship.  With our Boys Bowling Team having the success as State Runner-up and our Football Team doing the same, it makes me think about one word, “LEGACY”!

Each and every year we challenge our athletes to not worry so much about winning championships, but strive to leave the Best Legacy that you can leave.  Legacies are left in so many ways and I feel this senior class has already left one of the best Legacy’s that a class could ever leave.

This is the scary part, we still have spring sports in front of us. I am excited to see what Legacy our Track Team, Baseball Team and Softball Team’s will leave this year…The other point that needs to be made when talking Legacy’s is you develop great ones not only by winning Championships, but more so HOW YOU WON THOSE CHAMPIONSHIPS. I truly believe that our student athletes have built a Legacy that will last forever and in return will set our expectation level at a very high mark. That is a true Legacy.

Most recently, we have seen two of our former boys basketball players continue to leave a Legacy while carrying on the Huber Heights Wayne name.  How about Travis Trice for Michigan State and Markus Crider for Georgia State.  How neat is it to see these fine young men out there doing so well for their programs.  What a true Legacy that they are still developing. The best part is, what great young men they are while doing it.

We really hope that our community comes out in full force and supports the Warriors in Columbus this weekend at the Final Four. What we always say when we head to States, “the last one to leave town, make sure the lights are out!” That is one of the many Legacies of Huber Heights.
