THE LITTLE THINGS
In a season of Thanksgiving, we wanted to challenge everyone to not only be Thankful for the major things in life, but take the time to also be Thankful of the little things as well. In talking about the little things, how about giving or receiving a meaningful smile. Maybe you could ask someone how their day is going. What a difference that could make in someone’s life and trust me when you make someone feel good, you get that and much more in return.
One of my favorites is to open the door for someone. This is such a little action, but speaks volume of your gratefulness to others. We constantly talk to our kids about open doors for people, asking people how they are doing and even take the time to stop and listen if they reply with more than just a simple fine, thank you. People need people and more importantly people need to know that others care about them and are willing to take the time to care.
We constantly see our players taking the time to talk to young players about all of the little things in life. These little things are what make big things in life so very important. So when you see someone take the time to concentrate on the little things, be thankful and respond in a positive way. Don’t be in such a hurry that you can’t appreciate the little things that life has to offer.
