The definition of Compassion is: the emotion that one feels in response to the suffering of others that motivates a desire to help. In dealing with Athletics, the word Compassion keeps coming into play. This is one of the great lessons that we learn in Athletics and it is one of the most important ones that is taught.
In today’s society, so many times, people only care about themselves and stay very isolated about the feelings of others. In fact, one of the biggest things our nation is losing out on now is true Compassion for other people. So many times people act like they care about others, but only when it boost their own status or others can see what they are doing. People want praise for their Compassion and this is just wrong. This is what I am talking about when I say True Compassion.
In our community, I see both. However, I do see more of a True Compassion for people, especially when it comes to young people. I sure hope in the coming month that we step back and remember that what we want to make about us, is not what it should be, but what it should be is to make it about others with sincere True Compassion. We must take care of our kids in Huber Heights, if not they will not have the resources, education or the opportunity to have the Compassion for us some day.
We sure hope that all Warrior Fans are enjoying the fall season. This Friday, we will be having a tribute to our Fall Sports Seniors. There is not enough space in this paper and many other papers to express the True Compassion that we have about this Senior Class. The Band, Cheerleaders and Athletes have put in so many hours into trying to build programs that our Community can be very proud of calling their own. I hope that you will be able to come out and support this highly successful class…REMEMBER TO VOTE!
