Wow, it is that time of year already. Homecoming is such a special time for so many. It is great to see Alumni come back even if it is just for one game. I know we have the Alumni Band, Alumni Cheerleaders, along with many former players and students from the past. Of course the highlight is the crowing of the Queen. The King is announced at the Homecoming Dance, which is held on Saturday night. Can you remember who the King and Queen were when you were in school? Most recently we had a class that had their reunion and both the King and Queen were both there and even took part in the ceremony. Now that is special!
We encourage everyone to be involved with Homecoming 2014. Thanks to Jessie Livesay, we now have our Homecoming parade on Wednesday, September 24. On Thursday, September 25 our students put on Pep Rally for Rushmore Elementary. Then Friday, September 26, GAME DAY, we have a Homecoming Pep Rally here at the High School. The highlight is at half-time where the Queen will be announced.
A special thanks to Mrs. Livesay and her Student Council for all of their hard work and dedication to help make our students days at Wayne some of the most memorable times of their lives. We also hope that many Alumni will come back and be very proud of our young people for carrying on the tradition at one of the best Friday night experiences in the State of Ohio. As an Alum, if you do come back, the only thing we ask is that you realize that Wayne and Huber Heights City Schools is a very special place because of you…“Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior!” Go Wayne! Oh, I almost forgot, there will be a pretty exciting football game with two undefeated teams. Should be another great and memorable ”Friday nights in the Heights!”
