Warriors News · From the AD: Canadians

First, I would like to say how proud I am to be a part of this great community.
It was so evident in how hospitable our fans were last Friday night to the
Oakridge Football Team from Canada.  To quote one of their parents, “Huber
Heights seems like a great place to live.”  My reply was, it is and Come Grow
with Us!

Some people ask why we had to play a team from Canada.  As most people
know by now, it wasn’t by choice.  They are great people, their players and
coaches are great, but as the score stated and their coach said, “sorry we did
not give a better challenge, but it is just apples to oranges, aye!”  As many
know the revenue generated from this home game and other home games help to
support all of our programs throughout our athletic program.  So for us not to
have this revenue was not an option.  Trust me, there were so many things that we
as coaches were able to teach out of this game.  Some positive and of course some
negative, but the best part was getting to see some of our younger players out
there in action.  The future truly looks bright for Wayne High School.

We would like to wish our Head Girls Volleyball Coach a very speedy recovery.
Coach Herzer was involved in an accident this past weekend while serving as a
fireman.  We wish him the best and hope he gets back soon. Hope to see everyone
at our fall events.  Please go to www.waynewarriorathletics.com to get the latest
schedules and results.  Hopefully the Warriors will keep on running the tracks.
Jump on and enjoy the ride…

Go Warriors!
