Here is the weekly Huber Heights Courier article written by our Athletic Director, Jay Minton. Look for weekly “From the Desk of the AD” editions, highlighting his prospectives pertaining to Athletics.
This is one of the best times of the year, because we get to stop and give Thanks to all things that we seem to take for granted during the hustle and bustle of the year. There are so many things to be Thankful for that they could never be mentioned in this article, however, I hope that each of us can slow down enough to understand the depth of this Holiday. I wanted to share just some things that I give thanks to with most of them being every day. First and foremost I am thankful for a country that allows us to decide on the faith that we live by and although there are restrictions on expressing it, we still get to choose. I am so thankful to have a family that I am blessed with every day of my life. I have a loving wife (who now has a long “honey-do” list for me, now football season is over) that is involved with every aspect of the development of young people and two of the best daughters and a son in law that a man could ever ask for. I am so thankful for 3 of the most precious grandchildren that we have been blessed with. I am thankful for a group of men that serve and develop kids in such a phenomenal way, along with their supporting families that allow them the enormous amount of time away from them. I am thankful for a group of young people that want to develop and will be such a successful and positive influence in our society. Lastly, I am thankful for the opportunity to serve in such a great community as Huber Heights. Although we have our ups and downs, a day does not go by that I feel blessed and thankful for this opportunity. Trust me, there are many more things that I am thankful for with far too many to list. I hope each of you can take this Holiday of Thanksgiving and reflect on the things in your life that deserve “Thanks.”
May each of you have a safe and happy Thanksgiving Holiday!
The Football Team would like to Thank the Warrior Nation for all of the support and spirit that was present during this playoff run. Yes, this was not the year for us to go all the way, but we did need to see that Warrior Nation is still alive and ready when needed. We would also like to Thank all of the businesses that helped support our young people. Last but not least, a big Thank you to Jessica Livesay (a teacher and student council advisor) and Tracey Cline (my daughter, she had no choice) for developing pre-game meal opportunities for our players. We feel so very blessed…
